(Through the revitalization) all AP II staff and stakeholders are able to properly perform their duties to service flights at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Chairman and CEO of public airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Muhammad Awaluddin noted that services at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport have improved thanks to its revitalization and the availability of new facilities .

“After being reopened to commercial flights from September 1 to 10, (it was found that) the revitalization led by the Ministry of Transport had increased service standards and flight operations (at the airport),” said he points out here on Saturday.

He said the flow of passengers at the airport is much better thanks to the availability of several additional facilities in the arrival area.

In addition, the area has also been expanded to 1,200 square meters, which is about 30% larger than the previous condition.

Additionally, the arrival area now has three baggage carousel units so that passengers can collect their baggage more quickly.

Moreover, the availability of these additional aircraft has also enabled the airlines to meet their on-time performance targets (OTPs).

Awaluddin further said that the improved flight services at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport were also supported by the revitalization of the runway and drainage system.

The completion of the airport revitalization has also increased the number of flights. Cumulatively, after its reopening, the airport served 214 flights and 17,254 passengers.

Commercial scheduled airlines currently serving passengers at the airport include Citilink, which is the subsidiary of Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, and Batik Air, which is the subsidiary of Indonesian private airline Lion Air.

With the current runway length of three thousand meters, all types of aircraft including Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 can land at this airport based in East Jakarta.

“(Through the revitalization) all AP II staff and stakeholders are able to properly perform their duties to service flights at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport,” Awaluddin added.
