Hamad International Airport has been named the world’s best airport for the second consecutive year, announced during the World Airport Awards 2022 which took place at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris, France on June 16, 2022.
Other big winners include Singapore Changi Airportwinning awards for the best airport staff service in the world and the best airport restaurant in the world; Istanbul Airport won the awards for best airport shopping in the world and most family-friendly airport.
Tokyo Haneda Airport has won awards such as World’s Cleanest Airport, World’s Best Domestic Airport, Asia’s Best Airport, and Best Disabled Airport and Accessible Facilities. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh won the award for the most improved airport in the world.
from Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport was named the best regional airport in the world; Copenhagen Airport won the award for best immigration processing at airports in the world, and Zurich Airport repeated its success by winning the award for best airport security treatment in the world.

The World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry, voted for by customers in the world’s largest annual airport customer satisfaction survey. They are considered the benchmark of quality for the global airport industry, rating customer service and facilities at over 550 airports. The survey and awards are independent of any airport control, influence or contribution. Analysis of the results shows a strong correlation with the number of customers using airports in 2021, a period when variable travel conditions remained in place in many parts of the world, and with the rapid return of air travel in the most of the world, more normal times are returning.
