BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to Buffalo on Saturday for the funeral of Buffalo mass shooting victim Ruth Whitfield, 86.
Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff were joined by New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand on Air Force Two. They left Washington, DC from Joint Base Andrews for Buffalo at 8:45 a.m.
They then headed to Olive Mount Baptist Church for Ruth Whitfield’s funeral.
Harris stopped at the Jefferson Avenue Tops to pay her respects to the victims of the mass shooting before heading back to the airport.
Also, Reverend Al Sharpton, attorney Benjamin Crump, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and other state and local leaders were in attendance.
