Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson and Henderson Councilwoman Michelle Romero hold a trail cleanup of 9:30 a.m.. for 11:30 a.m.. on Saturday May 21, on the East Lake Mead Parkway trail. Volunteers are encouraged to register online for the East Lake Mead Trail Cleanup at https://tinyurl.com/4mmthp2.
Residents and volunteers are asked to gather at 9 a.m. at Mountain Lake Park, located at 1020 Golda Way, just west of Lake Las Vegas Parkway. At 9:30 a.m., rakes, shovels, gloves, trash bags and other supplies will be distributed, then volunteers will head to the trail to clean up trash and debris. There is a tunnel located at the north end of Mountain Lake Park that volunteers can use to safely access the trail on the south side of the East Lake Mead Parkway.
“I am pleased to host this cleanup with the City of Henderson and Councilwoman Romero,” said Commissioner Gibson, whose Commission District G includes the area. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors and meet other volunteers in our community.
“Residents of Henderson place a high value on trails and open spaces and we are pleased to organize a cleanup that will help maintain this wonderful trail for hikers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts,” said Councilor Michelle. Romero. “Henderson is fortunate to have so many residents and business owners who are willing to volunteer their time to keep our community beautiful.”
